You must have a life jacket with you, otherwise the day can end sadly. In addition, warmer clothes could be stored in waterproof bags. Larger luggage can be placed under the seats by tying them down. Phones, cameras, etc. should be in specially designed waterproof bags, if they are not at hand for any reason, it is better to leave the equipment at home, then you don’t have to worry that something might happen to the latter and you can fully enjoy the hike.

Remember!
*Certainly you shouldn’t stand up while canoeing, it almost always ends in a swim.
*When passing under an obstacle (eg a low tree branch), you should always lean forward or backward, not to the side.
*It is also not wise to grab hold of the branches, as the sudden change in the center of gravity can soon remind the riders of the water temperature.
*The back should be straight or concave when sitting, otherwise you will tire quickly.
*For beginner canoeists, someone who has canoed before should be placed in the back, as all maneuvering is done by the person sitting behind.
In correct rowing, the stroke is started as far forward as possible, keeping the oar in an upright position during the stroke and ending the stroke at the hip. The canoe can be turned quickly by pushing away from the nose and pulling towards the tail. Usually the rear seater steers, leaving the oar as far back as possible at the end, moving forward in small movements. This slows down the momentum the least. If it is necessary to turn the canoe quickly, the oar is pushed away from the tail, but it also slows down the momentum considerably more. Braking is done by paddling backwards. Canoes are easier to steer from an inside bend. In order to achieve higher driving speed, a kayak paddle can also be used instead of a regular paddle, which is held by the person sitting in front. Both can be kayak paddles, the faster and more exciting the ride will be. When choosing a paddle and an oar, you must also take into account whether the canoe will be ridden on large and wide bodies of water or rather on narrow rocks. Compared to wood, oars and paddles with plastic blades are considerably more impact resistant. When going into the water, you should make sure that the nose of the canoe is already in the direction of travel. Last, the rear rider sits in the canoe, who also keeps the canoe in the right position until the others enter the vehicle, the opposite happens when exiting the water. The front seater is the first to exit the canoe, holding the vehicle until the others have exited. If the canoe is overturned, it should first be turned on its side and only then lifted out of the water. When lifting the canoe onto the roof racks of the car, place it upside down if possible, as the canoe becomes considerably heavier in the event of an unexpected downpour.
