Exped Lightning 45 hiking backpack, Forest

The Exped Lightning is an extremely lightweight roll-top backpack for fast-and-light multi-night adventures, with outstanding comfort, freedom of movement and load-bearing stability. It has thru-hiking DNA with the carrying capacity of an internal frame pack.

The top-loading roll closure maximizes weatherproofing and lets the main compartment expand for extra gear. Zig-zag side compression straps and an over-the-top strap with Rapide Hook secure the load to the frame.

The suspension system is built around a single stout aluminum stay secured to the lumbar pad for direct weight transfer to the hips. The padded shoulder yoke with sternum strap slides along the stay, allowing vertical micro-adjustment to the wearer's torso length.

Stretch pouches on each side hold water bottles, trekking poles or tent poles, and zippered stretch pockets on the hip belt wings hold small items. A weather-resistant zippered pocket at the top of the frame gives access to a hydration reservoir, and a mesh inner pocket keeps valuables secure. A strong top haul loop, a pair of ice axe loops and a central daisy chain make Lightning mountaineering capable.

Available in women's and men's designs. 210 D PU-coated ripstop nylon balances light weight, durability and weather resistance.
